WHAT IS AN OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT?

  • They assist the optometrist in different ways throughout the office
  • They interact directly with patients and other professionals

WHAT DO WE NEED OUR OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANTS TO DO?

  • Front desk and reception duties including, but not limited to, greeting patients, scheduling and confirming appointments, answering and triaging phone calls, monitoring patient flow, processing payments, maintaining our recall system, as well as communicating with doctors, other team members and patients
  • Conduct preliminary diagnostic testing prior to the eye exam with the optometrist
  • Maintain records and ensure patient privacy
