Dr. Heather MacKenzie was born and raised in Georgetown but spent time in Inverhuron growing up, and moved to the area to be closer to family, joining our office in 2019. She graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph and Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2011, where she was awarded the RACH Memorial Award upon graduation. She also received her Fellowship in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation through the College of Optometrists in Vision Development in 2016.
Dr. MacKenzie enjoys seeing patients of all ages, but has a particular interest in pediatric care, as well as binocular vision and vision therapy ; she also practices with Dr. Robinson at our sister office, Saugeen Shores Vision Therapy Centre .

- Certified by the College of Optometrists of Ontario to prescribe therapeutics pharmaceutical agents (TPAs)
- A member of the Ontario Association of Optometrist , Canadian Association of Optometrists , College of Optometrists in Vision Development , Optometric Education Program Foundation and Canadian Optometrists in Vision Therapy & Rehabilitation
- Registered as an eye care provider with the Eye See... Eye Learn children's vision program, which provides free glasses to children in junior kindergarten
What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
Singing in the Kincardine Community Singers, travel, spending time with my family including my son and dog
What is your favourite thing about working at SSFEC?
We have a lot of fun. Our office is always filled with laughter and we love getting out in the community for fun team building days often.
